"GRAAAIINNNNS!.....GRAAAIINNNS!....."

I finished this little herd about a year ago.  I took an exacto blade to some plastic O-scale cows, added some green stuff and bits from some Warhammer horse skeletons, and voila!  Bovine zombies!

But they've been (un)living without a home all this time, so I finally picked up a Plasticville barn.

The unpainted barn

I used red, white, black and silver craft paint to spruce it up.  I then used Army Quickshade and some dark chalks to spruce it back down.  I ended up with the following:

If you've ever driven on the interstate highways in the U.S. in and around the state of Tennessee, then you've seen these barns with the "ROCK CITY" ads on them.  It's a part of Americana that started back in the twenties or thirties (I think).  Just Google SEE ROCK CITY and you'll get all the info you need to understand what I'm talking about.  I lived for a year near Chattanooga, Tennessee, so I saw quite of few of these old barns, and obviously the image has stuck in my mind.
Anyway, my little undead bovine herd has a place to call home now.  By the way, I'm working on adding a chicken coop to my little farm, so that I have a place to house these guys:

"Chicken in the breadpan pickin' out dough internal organs...  Skip to the Lou my Darlin'!"

That's it for now.

  1. I just stumbled on your blog and love it. Your work with plasticville models is just great for ATZ or post-apocalyptic world. Your zombie cows are really fun too.
I will keep an eye on your future posts. Bye.

  2. Thanks for the compliments. If you want to see some really really good stuff check out Zombietown (the link is somewhere on this page!). He even details out the inside of his buildings! It was after looking at that page that I decided to try it myself.

You're stuff is great! I really enjoy the batreps. Your buildings and miniatures make seem like a mini-movie. My French is very rusty, I only had a little in high school, but I'm enjoying working my way through your batreps and being able to figure out certain words and phrases without looking them up.
